Sustainable Garment Production through Effective Labor Inspection
In the face of growing global competition and ongoing challenges on compliance with labor standards, how to ensure sustainability of the garment production in Cambodia is an essential challenge that the country has to overcome. If the production is not sustainable in the future, the garment industry as well as approximately 700,000 workers employed in the sector will be put in jeopardy. The Lab of Tomorrow, supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, aims to innovate solutions for improvement of the national labor inspection to contribute to addressing the challenge.
On 30 November - 31 December 2016, Managing Director of Sok Xing & Hwang, Mr. Sok Lor, participated in and contributed to the Lab of Tomorrow workshop through inputs that are based on his expertise in labor administration and labor and employment law and policy in Cambodia.
