Mr. Sok Lor Sets Tone at CAMFEBA-NCAC Debriefing on Commercial Arbitration in Cambodia
In a stride towards promoting alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Sok Lor, Managing Director of Sok Xing & Hwang and VP of Cambodian Federation of Employers and Business Association (CAMFEBA), took the helm at the opening of CAMFEBA members debriefing on the commercial arbitration and case preparation before the commercial arbitration center, held yesterday, 29 March 2024. The debriefing event, a gathering of about 100 participants in a diversity of professions –industry professionals in legal, finance, accounting and human resources-- served as a platform to get the latest status updates and deliberate on the evolving landscape of commercial arbitration and its critical role in resolving commercial disputes.
Addressing a diverse audience of arbitrators, and business leaders, legal, finance and human resources professionals, Mr. Sok Lor emphasized the importance of arbitration in modern business transactions. With an insightful keynote speech, Mr. Sok Lor underscored the main advantages that commercial arbitration can offer compared to traditional litigation: efficiency, flexibility, credibility, and confidentiality.
The conference, held at the Business Development Center in Khan Chroy Changva, Phnom Penh featured, presentation and Question & Answer session, networking opportunities aimed at fostering dialogue and collaboration within the community of legal, finance, accounting, human resources, and arbitration professionals. Topics ranged from case preparation, emerging trends in arbitration to best practices for effective dispute resolution in various industries.
